Pet portrait commissions | How it works
If you've never commissioned a piece of art work before you'd be forgiven for finding the whole process seems a bit daunting. In this post I shall show you the steps to take to start your very own pet portrait commission .
WHERE TO START?
The very first thing to do is pop over to www.pickypencil.com/order answer a few questions and you'll be given a no obligation quote.
On the form you'll be given the choice to stop the process, ask me for more information or start a commission.
You'll then be asked for your personal details such as your email, mobile number etc.
Once you have submitted the form I'll email back with a copy so you can check the details are correct .
I'll then ask for a non refundable deposit and photos
WHAT PHOTOS?
The best thing to do when deciding what images to use is to find your favourite photos of your dog , send them to me and I can let you know which will make the best drawing.
In group commissions don't worry about whether all the dogs are in the same photo.
If you like the photo you'll love the drawing based on it.
A few tips
get outside . The light will be better and you'll have space to move about.
get down to eye level with your pup.
get the treats out and hold them at the camera level.
most importantly have some fun together. it will show in the image.

DEPOSIT, PHOTOS AND ORDER FORM COMPLETE:
Once you have checked the order form and I have received your deposit and photos I'll book your drawing onto my waiting list. Please let me know if you need the drawing for a specific date and I'll do my best to have it ready in time. I'll also make a mock up of the drawing so you can see the position the photos will be on the page.

COMPLETED DRAWING:
Once the commission is complete I'll send you a proof of the finished drawing and request the remaining balance. Once the balance comes through I'll email a digital scan of the image (included in the package) and arrange to post the origin art work out to you using royal mail. All drawings come to you in a mount and protective sleeve with a certificate of authenticity and care instructions.
ENJOY YOUR DRAWING:
I hope this post has made the process a lot clearer and has encouraged you to start your own commission .
Looking forward to chatting with you soon,
Lyn.
