Back to the drawing board this time to try something I have never done before.I have always wanted to try painting but found it really scary. While on pinterest I found Floyd greys work one of my favourites is pictured below and felt really excited to try using some watercolour. So I have stretched my paper, looked out my paints and taken a deap breath. Now to fight my phobia of paint.....wish me luck.
Here is my butterfly girl picture. I tried the watercolours. it did not go well. The good thing is that now its a collage as I cut it out and drew swirls behind it. I like the affect of if it being slightly raised . its fairly different to my usual drawings.
So far so good. Quite happy with how its turned out so far. Now away to use watercolous to add a background never done this before so fingers crossed. In the past me and paint have not seen eye to eye so this should be interesting...
Hello again. Just finished drawing the start of my butterfly picture. Used my new Bristol board paper ,Oh sooooo smooth its brilliant. Used a 4h pencil to sketch the outline of the picture .Now away to use my coloured pencils to add a bit of fairytale magic.. This paper apparantly can take watercolour so thinking I might use some at the end .Never done this before so should be, shall we say Interesting.
I have everything ready for a perfect excuse to stay curled up and cosy this weekend. Cute photo, My NEW bristol board paper, coloured pencils and of course a rubber. Its the first time I have used Bristol board paper. I noticed a few other people using it so I thought I would give it a try. A bit thicker than the paper I usually use and very very smooth. Cant wait to try it out.
